What to do if your period late
Yoga for bringing on your period
Sometimes it feels like your PMS is building up forever… Your period is late and you can’t wait for the release. Of course, a late period can have many reasons which we’ll get into later. But the waiting game for your period can feel like a time bomb.
Abdominal massage, digestion and immunity
Belly massage with castor oil for constipation and more
Abdominal massage might be the answer if you are feeling bloated, constipated or just a bit sensitive. It might even have an impact on your immune system and emotional well-being.
As someone who has always had digestive issues which were labelled IBS in my adult years, I have tried pretty much everything to help being bloated and constipated. And the one thing I enjoy the most and that gives me relief (on so many levels) is abdominal massage with castor oil.
Why you need to massage your breasts
Massage for breast health
Massaging our breasts we support our lymphatic system which can become stagnant. We support the blood circulation in our breasts. And from an ayurvedic view, we connect with the prana (or energy) and the marma points (pressure points).
The Ayurvedic way to regulate the nervous system
Self massage for nervous system regulation
In ayurveda, we believe that abhyanga is beneficial for all doshas (with few exceptions). Oil is specifically nourishing and calming for vata dosha. Vata being the elements of air and space tends to dryness and creaky joints. Vata can also manifest as constipation and bloating, insomnia and anxiety. The nervous system is often related to vata dosha.
Joint health and oiling the body
Achy and creaky joints are pretty common. There are many reasons for achy joints, it could be osteoarthritis which we often associate with “wear and tear”, rheumatoid arthritis or injuries to the ligaments or cartilage. The strain on the joint can be another issue.
Benefits of using oil on the skin
Oil massage for body, face and emotional health
Massaging our belly brings awareness. Touch is so important. Touch is love. Belly massage is a beautiful way to truly relax our nervous system. Supports our lymphatic system and our digestion too.
The challenges of being a yoga teacher
Are you disillusioned about being a yoga teacher? Yoga isn’t an institution or a culture of looking or being a certain way. Yoga isn’t an industry. It’s about you, Universal Truth and the Great Mystery…I hear a lot of people being disillusioned about yoga. They feel like they can’t be part of that system anymore. And want to “give up”. Many yoga teachers but also regular people.
Are you hungry?
I mean are you actually hungry? Do you feel the hunger in your belly? Is your digestive fire asking for fuel?
In ayurveda hunger and understanding the feeling of being hungry is essential for our health. Digestion is one of the pillars of health in ayurveda. And we need to understand when we are actually hungry.

They are completely different and yet very similar.
An artist, designer, writer, teacher, and Tarot Reader. A non-dual lineage holder of Vedic tradition of India and ayurvedic teacher. And a record executive, record producer and general inspirational person.
What to do during the luteal phase?
The to-do list for the luteal phase Clearing out the clutter in our minds and in our physical space is the perfect thing to do in the luteal phase of your menstrual cycle. Get done with the emails in your inbox. Respond and declutter or delete. Need to clear out your cupboard or wardrobe? This where is the sharp (and sometimes critical) energy of pitta dosha can be beneficial. The nostalgic softness of kapha dosha and oestrogen is reduced.

Essential oils are excellent for meditation and here I am sharing my top 5 favourite essential oils to use during meditation practice.

What’s my dosha? My true Nature
I am reflecting on what my true nature is. In ayurveda we talk about doshas and our prakriti. Prakriti is our unique constitution. It’s our balance. Our prakriti is created by the 5 great elements or the panchamahabhutas; space, air, fire, water and earth which we also know from yoga.
pitta dosha and the sun
Summer is also associated with pitta dosha in ayurveda. Pitta dosha is the fire and water element but we often think of fire when it comes to pitta. And indeed the sun is fire! Fire transforms and digests. The fire helps us digest our food, our sense impressions and our feelings.
