Finding light within the darkness

16th of December 2021

It may feel dark at the moment.

But within the darkness slowly the light will shine and illuminate.

Right now we are in the dark on a cyclical level. The new moon is hardly visible in the sky.

The nights are growing longer as we are approaching the winter solstice.

The winter solstice has been celebrated through time. We knew the days would grow longer. And we celebrated this yearly cycle. In a sense this is truly the new year.

We may feel scared of the darkness, the unknown, the unseen, unacknowledged… something we can’t quite control. But all of that is part of our life experience. It is part of the whole.

The darkness can be the perfect time to go deep, go within, into our own dark cave and shadows. The perfect time to reflect and contemplate.

The perfect time to release into the void of the darkness what doesn’t serve us, nourish us, nurture us. That is not to say we don’t need challenges or darkness. We need light and shadows. They go together. But we don’t need to be frightened of our shadows. We can acknowledge them as part of the whole. We digest the light and the darkness. And they becomes valuable lessons of growth or evolution. Like anything we consume some becomes waste or excess. Something we no longer need to hold on to. We can let it go.

In the darkness we can rest and digest. In the darkness we can contemplate and meditate. In the darkness we can let go.
Then we are ready for the new yearly cycle.
