MORE/NEW DATES COMING SOON

  • Starts Monday 6th of March and runs for a total of 5 Mondays 10-12:30

  • live on zoom + recordings for 1 year

  • online portal with all recordings

The menstrual cycle affect half the population. And the majority of people practising yoga are women. Yet we rarely even discuss how the hormones change every week through the menstrual cycle and how it affects us - in daily life or in our yoga.

This training is based on my book Teaching yoga for the menstrual cycle - an āyurvedic approach where we delve into the hormonal cycle both from a Western perspective and more in-depth of the āyurvedic perspective and how it relates to our yoga practise and teaching.

Each session will consist of a lecture/teaching time, q&a and a yoga practise for womb or menstrual health. Including:

  • Why we need menstrual cycle awareness

  • The Western approach to yoga + the traditional culture

  • Introduction to Sāṅkhya philosophy

  • Introduction to āyurveda as it relates to the menstrual cycle

  • The five great elements, dosas, prana/apana

  • The Western hormonal cycle

  • The āyurvedic cycle, the dosas, the “ideal” period, periods related to the dosas

  • Menarche to perimenopause / our life cycle

  • Yoga for each phase of the cycle

  • Yoga for common complaints

  • Class planning and one-to-ones

  • and more…

Expect each class to last 2 to 2 1/2 hours. The classes are recorded and you can access them through the online portal for 1 year. For privacy, I will not record attendees’ voices/videos (during question time). If you can not make it live you can email me any questions you may have which will then be discussed in the live session.

Who is the immersion for:

  • yoga teachers of all traditions

  • yoga teachers in training

  • yoga practitioners with a strong interest in yoga (as a whole, not just stretching/exercise)

  • people with a love for and strong background in yoga but might also be interested in āyurveda, women’s circles, red tents, womb wellness, own self-development and self-care.

We welcome all however the required reading Teaching yoga for the menstrual cycle - an āyurvedic approach and teachings on the immersion are for people with experience in yoga such as teachers and people who love yoga. If you are unsure if this is for you please just send an email so we can discuss it (via email or zoom).

This is a further training course for your own personal and professional development rather than a teacher training course. And I encourage you to join us live where possible.

Required reading: Teaching yoga for the menstrual cycle - an āyurvedic approach by me Anja Brierley Lange. A discount will be offered when registering for the course to purchase directly from the publisher in the UK and US.
