Module 2: Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd May 2026

Learn to support your pregnant yoga students and create prenatal yoga classes safely, with educated awareness and creativity.

This training gives you the knowledge so you can confidently start to integrate, teach special yoga classes or one-to-ones for pregnant students.

The full training is over two weekends. We highly recommend attending both training weekends to fully immerse yourself in prenatal yoga and offer both general classes to support pregnant students, specializing in pregnancy yoga classes and supporting on a one-to-one.

Over two weekends, with some homework and an online portal with yoga videos and lectures, you will learn:

  • How to create safe, uplifting and encouraging pregnancy classes or one-to-ones

  • How to modify yoga poses for the pregnant body

  • Sun salutation and flow during pregnancy

  • How yoga can support during pregnancy, labor and birth

  • To confident teach pelvic floor awareness and practices

  • The ayurvedic and energetic aspects on pregnancy

  • How to practise mudra, pranayama, meditation and shavasana with your pregnant students

  • The common complaints and contraindications in pregnancy

  • To practically teach and plan pregnancy yoga classes

  • An introduction to postnatal recovery

  • Experience pregnancy yoga classes taught to you as a student and practice teaching each other

Module 1: Instruction to Pregnancy in Yoga

  • Understand how the body changes and how it affects the yoga practice

  • Contraindications and specific modification

  • Adjust yoga poses accordingly (including alignment, variations)

  • General yoga and pranayama to include pregnant students


Module 2: Supporting Pregnant Students and specialize

  • Learn how to teach specific prenatal yoga classes

  • Accommodating specific pregnancy ailments or conditions

  • Birth positions and preparation

  • Understand the pelvic floor and preparing it for birth and postpartum healing 

  • Lesson planning


You will receive online access to begin your learning. You are encouraged to observe 3 pregnancy yoga classes (if not possible watch pregnancy yoga videos) before the course.

  • yoga teachers in training

  • experienced yoga students with a special interest in pregnancy or being pregnant themselves

  • people working in the pregnancy realm who are experienced yoga students themselves

  • doulas, body workers and midwives

Course timings:

  • Fridays : 16.00h – 20.00h

  • Saturdays : 10.00h – 19.00h

  • Sundays : 10:00h – 16:00h


Certification:
You will receive a certificate of continuous professional development and education. This will be accepted by most organization including Yoga Alliance.

Each module delivers 20 hours of in-person training (a total of 40 hours) as well as online pre-recorded information. You can register these hours as Continuous Professional development (CPD) or Continuous Education (CE) with your professional body and insurance.

This course will be led by Anja Brierley Lange (BSc, PGDip Āyurveda) is the author of Teaching yoga for the menstrual cycle - an Āyurvedic perspective and an experienced yoga teacher, Āyurvedic practitioner and teacher trainer. Teaching since 2005 she has specialized in yoga and Āyurveda relating to female anatomy and physiology. She was one of the original creators and course leaders for Yoga London’s pregnancy and postnatal yoga teacher training course back in 2013 and has since evolved and changed her own offerings.
