Resting and relaxing
I wanted to share a few restful, supported, restorative poses you can enjoy anytime - for a moment or even several minutes, 2 minutes, 5 or even 10 minutes.
Restful backbend
Here is a restorative backbend video for you to enjoy for FREE from the Monthly Membership in the Online Yoga Studio:

If you are in the Monthly Membership you can find more relaxation and breathing here and we have lots of Chill Out Yoga Classes.
I recently added these 4 short videos to the Shorter Sessions tab.
These short sessions are just 10-15 minutes long and involves mostly one or variations of one kind of restful pose. There are several shorter videos focusing on relaxation in the library!

Find a way that’s at ease for you. Let your arms relax as you like, where they want to rest. I used cushions here but if you have yoga blocks or bolsters use them - a folded-up blanket, perhaps.
And I added some (old recordings) of yoga nidra too.
Yoga nidra - guided relaxation
Yoga nidra is best done in Shavasana, a neutral position, but again you want to find ease. So if you need a small cushion under the head or knees go ahead. I also use yoga nidra if I can not sleep at night in bed.
The audio yoga nidra allowing you to stay in your own dreamy sleep

Rest is so important for our physical and mental/emotional well-being. Actual rest. Not where we zone out scrolling or watching Netflix.
But a space of Being - not Doing.
Sometimes we need movement and flow (and yes there are plenty of both full-length yoga classes and short yoga videos inside the Membership of that too). But I hope this has inspired you to enjoy some rest and restoration in your life.
