Light up your Fire
The concept of fire, or Agni, in ayurveda is key to health and happiness.
Fire is our digestion. A healthy digestion is the root to wellbeing: physically and emotionally. Toomuch fire and we experience heartburn or constant hunger. Too little and we feel sluggish, constipated and heavy.
Emotionally we also digest. We digest our experiences, what we watch on the news, the conversations we have, the music we listen to, how we grew up and the way we choose to respond to various situations.
Fire is about transformation. If we digest well, the nutrients will nourish us – emotionally or physically. If we have an unbalanced digestion we become malnourished.
And what do we choose to digest? Fast food or homemade wholesome nourishment? Interesting and inspiring conversations amongst friends or being in an environment that doesn’t nourish us? What is your nourishment like?
Do you notice hunger? Do you allow yourself to feel hunger and to kindle the fire with nourishing nutrition? Are you too busy to feel your fire? What are you passionate about?

Kindle your fire with warm slightly spicy foods, create warmth with exercise, and be careful not to burn out by embracing a cool and calm mind.
